Description

Amazing amount of sea life including Spiny Dogfish, Horse mussels, Paua, Interesting Sponge growth and the occasional Ray. Best viewed in extended calm sea conditions, very picturesque. Depth around 10 metres, Visibility 1–12 metres but often hard to find a good day. Suitable for novice.

Tips

When launching boat, do so on half tides so be aware of these, rock should appear and disappear frequently. GPS co-ordinates are a rough estimate or the rocks whereabouts so be vigilant when locating rock.

Hazards

Submerged Reef, Rock. Be vigilant when locating site. Large swells also common along this coastline.

Sea and Weather Recommendations

Large swells, usually from the SW direction make diving this coastline difficult at times.

Directions

5 minutes from Blueskin Bay “ramp” and 20 minutes from Carey's Bay in a calm sea. Isolated rock 1km NE offshore at the north end of Warrington Beach which covers and uncovers with swells.
